Life Settlements vs. The Life Insurance Industry – Part 2 with Alan H. Buerger (Ep. 7)

Many people buy life insurance policies without fully understanding their options, benefits, and risks.

Life settlements are an alternative option that can help policy owners unlock the hidden value of their life insurance policies and use them for their own needs.

However, life settlements are not widely known or understood by the public, and they face many challenges from the insurance industry that wants to keep them in the dark.

In this episode, Mark Mrky and Rob Haynie continue the conversation with Alan H. Buerger, Co-Founder and Chairman at Coventry. This time, they explain the multiple reasons people don’t know about life settlements, the need for education about this option, and the resistance from insurance carriers.

Together, they discuss:

  • Why aren’t people taking advantage of the life settlement option
  • The challenges faced by the life settlement industry
  • The approach of large insurance carriers when it comes to employees who refer to life settlements
  • The importance of regulation in the life settlement industry
  • The industry’s fight against carriers engaging in enhanced cash surrender value practices
  • The value provided by life settlements in terms of choice, retirement income, long-term care costs, and financial support for future generations
  • And more!
